Project DC Events
Arlington, VA, March 4th, 2013 – Project DC Events is excited to announce myTaxi, Yuengling and Yelp as the premier sponsors for The Shamrock Crawl 2013 scheduled for Saturday, March 9th from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM in Arlington.
“The demand to bring our bar crawls to Arlington has been enormous” said Alex Lopez, co-founder of Project DC Events. “We are ready to showcase our amazing sponsors and fun events to the people of Arlington.”
MyTaxiis the first taxi-booking application that directly connects passenger and driver. Passengers can view driver profiles, choose their favorite driver, track their taxi’s location and rate their overall experience straight from their smart phone. Due to the overwhelming amount of positive feedback, we are excited to report they officially launched in Arlington last month.
As a returning Project DC Events sponsor, the myTaxi Arlington campaign starts off with their partnership at The Shamrock Crawl 2013. Through this sponsorship, they have generously offered to give each participant a free $5 ride home voucher to use at anytime.
Yuengling Brewery is another returning sponsor this year. “Their beers were so popular at our last DC event, we are thrilled to have them back on board and lucky to be able to discount such a high quality beer” said Lopez. Click here to continue reading»»
Which St. Patrick’s Day DC Event are you looking forward to?
St. Patrick’s Day— the time of year when lads and lasses deck themselves in green and dance Irish jigs in the street while toasting to the luck of the Irish. St. Patrick’s Day this year falls on Sunday, March 17th, which means a month full of carousing and cheers-ing. If you are asking yourself, which St. Patrick’s Day DC event to hit up, we have you covered! The DMV will be hopping with Irish cheer all throughout March. From bar parties, to DC bar crawls, to festivals, there’s a little something for everyone.
The month of March kicks off with the Leprechaun Lap on March 2, 2013. This annual St. Patrick’s Day DC bar crawl will start off at Mackey’s Public House and continue through Dupont Circle. As excited as you might be to put on your St. Paddy’s day costume early, it may be worth waiting a week for the 3rd Annual Green Beer Day at Public Bar instead.
The 3rd Annual Green Beer Day DC takes place on Saturday, March 9th at Dupont’s Public Bar. There’s no need to hop from bar to bar in DC when everything is housed under one roof. Three floors and a rooftop, live bands, DJs, food & drink specials, and most importantly, green beer kegs! Oh, and did I mention green Red Bull Vodka specials?! The only way to get access to this exclusive party is to buy your $10 tickets at www.greenbeerdaydc.com. Click here to continue reading»»

Valentine’s Day seems to be one of those times of the year that really sneaks up on us. Hours before the big day you’ll see guys scrambling at the jewelry stores or feverishly refreshing OpenTable in hopes that the restaurant booked up three months ago magically has an opening. You will also find women talking about how many gifts she will be receiving from her special someone, when in reality she’s hoping her boyfriend doesn’t forget Valentine’s Day. The result for both men and women is panic!
So as many single and non-singles alike quiver at the thought of Valentine’s day, this writer can give you a positive light on a time of year you really should be excited for. And no, I don’t have a secret reservation hotline, but I can suggest an alternative event that will offer a little something for everyone — Cupid’s Bar Crawl 2013!
When you think of February or Valentine’s Day you may not think a pub crawl, but you should! Project DC Events’ Cupid’s Bar Crawl will take place on Saturday, February 9th in DuPont Circle. An event ticket gets you a souvenir mug, Valentine’s Day/Mardi Gras signature beads, access to some of DC’s finest bars, exclusive drink and food specials, and a raffle entry to win some great prizes. Participating establishments include Public Bar, The Madhatter, Irish Whiskey, Sign of the Whale, Ozio and The Mighty Pint, to name a few. Each bar will feature Valentine’s Day & Mardi Gras shenanigans and drinks specials from 3PM until 11PM. Click here to continue reading»»
When the tragic shootings happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, I was instantly affected. As a Virginia Tech alum, who was a student during our own tragedy, I know how hard it is for a community to overcome such a horrendous event. It was the outpour of support from people around the world which helped us cope and heal. I knew instantly I wanted to help Sandy Hook in some way, any way possible.
Teaming up with Project DC Events, we were able to put on a great event! Over 100 people came to support The Sandy Hook Fundraiser at SoBe in Clarendon on Wednesday, January 9th for a fundraiser happy hour to support the Sandy Hook School Support Fund. A $10 donation gave supporters a wristband for delicious food and drink specials. DJ Antonio Ernesto kept the party going all night long with great music and atmosphere. People danced, mingled, and left feeling good about the night and their contribution!
We raised nearly $1,300 in just a few hours and were featured on ABC 7 news! Project DC Events proved that while they do a great job of putting together awesome events and bar crawls, they also have a knack for bringing people together for a great cause! Thanks to everyone who came out and donated! Click here to continue reading»»
Thanks to our amazing friends, sponsors, partners and a special thanks to you!
2012 has been Project DC Event’s coming out party. 2013 will be the year that we not only grow as a company, but also spread to different cities for more people to hear about our brand, our events, and jump on board for all of the crazy madness that we have in store. But before I go on and start to ramble about the future, I want to give many thanks to our friends, sponsors, partners, and the amazing volunteers we’ve had throughout our events. They have, without a doubt, enabled us to be where we are today.
We are thankful for Summer Crawl DC (our coming out event) and for DC Santa Crawl (our biggest event to date). We are thankful to have the best sponsors and establishment partners in the city, and we are thankful to have met you and had you at one of our events. We take pride in going above and beyond in every event we put together and host, and that won’t stop in 2013.
We have a lot of tricks up our sleeves for 2013. Mapping out the year, thinking of concepts to bring to DC, as well as brainstorming new cities to throw events in was a blast. Cupid’s Bar Crawl, Pink & Drink and Bright & Pint are just a few events to keep an eye out for in this new year! Don’t forget, we treat our returning participants very very well. You will be among the first to hear about each event and have the advantage of using early bird promo codes! Click here to continue reading»»
Holiday Bar Crawls, Santas, Elves and Ugly Christmas Sweaters invaded DC this December
Everyone knows the month of December is one of the busiest months of the year. Malls are packed, post offices have lines going out the door, and everyone is starting to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah. Our nation’s capital is no exception and is jam packed with Christmas pub crawls, DC Santa crawls, Snow Day celebrations, Santa Stumbles, Ugly Christmas sweater parties, corporate holiday buyouts, and the list goes on.
Whether you were looking for something to do early in the month of December, or something to do while preparing to take your college finals, or simply looking for a way to release some steam after finishing off another crazy semester, DC had your back this month! There was a holiday event taking place at every corner, literally. But for the sake of this blog post, let’s talk about the major ones that took place this month.
The month started off with the Christmas Crawl. To be honest, we didn’t know much about this event, aside from the fact that it was in Dupont Circle. It wasn’t until the days leading up to the event that people really started to talk about it and how big it could become. Participants wore their ugly Christmas sweaters in pride as they visited participating establishments in the Dupont Circle area. Click here to continue reading»»
